REVIEWING STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF MY SOUND SOURCING AND SOUND CREATION

1. What do you feel were your strengths in sourcing your audio and why?

My strengths of sourcing my own was that i had a vast amount of different experimentation as i wanted. For example i was able to have a huge variety of created sounds around my home as there where so many objects and surfaces to experiment and play with on. Also the ability for me to propally record and sample my own-diegtic sound has been a valuable key to unlocking my audio mixing skills as well. Because i was needing to get to grips with different audio workstations etc. Also it showed me why recording your own sounds is a very valuable  skill to have media because if i can now record my own sounds and effects etc, i don't have to rely apon royalty free/copyrighted free websites to get my effects. Also there is no risk of any sort of copyright claiming apon my video as all of my recordings are home-made and have been crafted by myself.

2. What areas would you like to improve on when sourcing audio in the future and why?

The areas that i would like to improve apon in the future when approaching the idea of recording my own audios, will be to invest in an actual proper quality DSLR microphone with Canon camera set-up. The reason as to why is because the built-in condensor microphone that is built-in to my current cross-tour go pro is quite limited to it's overall sonic range compared to an industry standard professional microphone like there is on on an DSLR camera. So next time when i am looking to record better quality sounding effects and home-made digetic audios, i will be looking into investing in a more supreme quality based microphone with-in the future.

3. What do you feel were your strengths when creating your own audio and why?

Much like what i said just before, i really did luckily have a lot of different surface areas and objects to expermit with and play around with to get a variety of creative sounds. Also when it came to mixing some of the sounds i recorded actually turned out surprisingly better than i thought the condenser microphone built within the go pro proved to be decent alternative to a real DSLR microphone. Which would of have been a far better option if the current situation wasn't as it is. Why i thought my strengths for creating my own audio were good was that i was able to record my samples smoothly and quickly as possible. I was to get done what i wanted to get down and import into my video whenever needs be. Also i think my productive time management was spot on as well as it didn't take very long to record the things that i wanted, and the ending was result that i had, i found really positive.

4. What areas would you like to improve on when creating your own audio in the future?

The areas that i would like to improve apon would most definitely be (as just apon mentioned) Investing in a far better camera set-up to better record and sample mt own audio as the current microphone built in with my Go Pro is good, but not complety outstanding compared to real DSLR microphones. Also looking to probably invest a more professional/high end video editor software, to get better and more sharpness recordings out of my equipment is going to be a top priority as the one that i have equipped now is still good, is not quite as a good "long time" option as compared to something like primer pro.

5. What do you feel went well at the editing stage when integrating your audio into your final film?

What i think went will in regards to the editing stage was i was able to navigate the controls and functions to edit and piece toughener my audio recordings, went incredibly smoothly. I was able to manage the file and save options and was able and fleapit in using the snipping tool and the unlink tool, to un link audio from video and more accurately edit my audio mix. Also i think accompanying my sound into my end of year 14th century castle video went really well as i was able to blend the TV static in along with the pre-recorded audio which ended up to be a really interesting addition to the whole video.

 6. What areas would you like to improve upon when integrating audio onto your future video projects?

Aera i would like to improve apon when integrating more of my own diegtic sound in the future is that i would to invest a better, more superior camera set-up with a DSLR standard microphone to better record my own home-made audios, because the the built condenser microphone on the go pro camera will not be satisfactory enough as i move deeper into the media course. To invest a better editing software, because even though the software that i'm using now is pretty good, it is still not quite as professional as primer pro is, also primer pro has far more editing options to attenuate with and to get to grips of too.
